I am writing this so no one may forget the story of Paullgrave Williams. The wealthy silver smith didn't even need to become a pirate, he did it for the thrill. Born in 1675, he joined Black Sam's crew in 1716. Just one year later, he became the capitain of the Marianne, Sam's companion ship. Before the Whydah made it to Cape Cod, Paul asked if he could visit some family while the rest of the crew sailed on, assuming they would sail back to pick him up. He waited two weeks for a man he didn't know was already dead. Eventually he sailed back to Nassau to continue raiding. In 1718 he accepts the royal pardon before deciding piracy is really fun and goes back in 1720. And then he disappears. We will probably never know how his story ends.
